THE REASON FOR FESTIKIDS
Festikids emerged as an initiative linked to the Granada Early Music Festival (FMAG) with the aim of bringing historical musical heritage closer to the educational field and promoting the active participation of students in the interpretation and understanding of early music.
From its first editions, the project has sought to establish a bridge between the educational world, cultural institutions and music professionals, creating a space in which training, performance and dissemination of musical heritage are developed jointly.
HISTORY
Throughout its various editions, Festikids has established itself as a leading educational and cultural event in the province of Granada, integrating educational concerts, training activities, meetings with specialists, and the Early Music Performance Prize, aimed at students from schools, conservatories, and music schools. This growth has been made possible through the collaboration between the Granada Early Music Festival, the Regional Delegation for Educational Development and Vocational Training, educational institutions, and various cultural organizations.
Each edition of the festival revolves around a theme that explores the connection between early music and different cultural traditions or important figures in musical history. In its seventh edition, Festikids focuses on the theme "Falla, Roots and Time," delving into the relationship between Manuel de Falla and historical musical tradition, a key influence on his artistic thinking and his interest in musical roots.
MISSION
Festikids' mission is to promote the knowledge, interpretation and appreciation of early music among new generations, integrating music as an educational, cultural and social tool within the school environment.
To this end, the festival promotes initiatives that encourage active student participation, collaboration between schools, and connections between the educational sector and the professional music world. Through educational concerts, performance competitions, activities in different locations, and training programs for teachers, Festikids aims to bring musical heritage closer to the educational community in an accessible, participatory, and inclusive way.

Festikids aspires to consolidate itself as an educational and cultural benchmark in the dissemination of early music in the school environment, generating spaces for learning, creativity and participation that connect musical heritage with new generations.
The project aims to strengthen the relationship between education, culture, and society by promoting music education that contributes to artistic development, critical thinking, and knowledge of cultural heritage. It also seeks to expand its reach geographically and continue creating opportunities for students, teachers, and educational communities to actively participate in high-quality musical experiences within the context of the Granada Early Music Festival.
