Festikids Granada celebrates a great cultural day bringing together hundreds of students, families and educational centers
Festikids Granada experienced one of the most special and exciting days of its 2026 edition today with the celebration of the Festikids Awards Gala and the subsequent concert by the Granada Chamber Choir along with participating school groups
The Federico García Lorca Center hosted both events, bringing together students, teachers, families, institutional representatives and collaborating entities in an event that once again demonstrated the power of culture and education as tools for unity, creativity and participation.
A gala to recognize young talent
The Festikids Gala highlighted the effort, creativity and artistic work developed by the participating educational centers during this seventh edition of the project.
During the event, special recognition was given to the involvement of teachers, families, and students in an initiative that continues to grow year after year and aims to promote coexistence, culture, participation, and the artistic development of children and young people.
The First Prize of Festikids 2026 went to CEIP Jabalcón of Baza; the Second Prize went to the Virgen de Gracia Orchestra and Choir of Granada; while the Third Prize, shared, recognized the work of IES Padre Poveda of Guadix and IES Blas Infante of Ogíjares.
In addition, the jury awarded special mentions to the Colegio Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes in Granada and the CEIP San José de Calasanz in Órgiva for their commitment to popular and traditional music.
The gala was attended by institutional and educational representatives, including María José Martín Gómez, territorial delegate for Educational Development and Vocational Training and for University, Research and Innovation in Granada; Rosa Suárez Muñoz, coordinator of the Pedagogical Office of Fine Arts; Miriam Sáez Árcija, representative of the Granada Early Music Festival; Pedro Justo Ramos Martínez, mayor of Baza; Gema Domínguez, representative of the Unicaja Foundation; and Juan Antonio Rosado, CEO of APDI Group.
Music, emotion and artistic closing
The day continued in the evening with the grand concert of the Granada Chamber Choir, directed by Jorge Rodríguez Morata, in which two of the school groups awarded in this edition of Festikids participated.
The concert became the perfect artistic finale to a day marked by emotion, music, and the prominence of children and young people.
